In bay area on an average an Indian spends 80% of his time with the computer and the remaining time is spent in kitchen, eating, cleaning, doing groceries and traveling in car etc. So statistically radio can co-exist with any human activity unless you are watching TV or teaching kids.
Now roughly there are about 70, 000 Indian Americans in San Francisco, 15,000 in Oakland, 12, 000 in San Jose and not to mention the other towns where we do not have the statistics of Indian/ American Indian population. Our program also has listeners from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal not to mention the listeners who listen to our archived shows from all over U.S.A, Europe, India, South Africa, Singapore and South America.
Advertising on radio would mean reaching out to the largest chunk of desi population.
